(In freaky Ellen Greene falsetto voice): "I know Voiceanth's a cutie...well if not, he's got....innah beauty...."
I don't what the point of this post is, but I was bored, and I think anth is cute.

PopCultureBoy, You don't know what you're talking about when it comes to me. You know nothing about me, except it appears that I don't share you taste in muscial theatre, yet. Relax. Think of the thousands of people who hate CATS and still the show played 16 years or so. Even with a proliferation of shows of dubious merits there is always room for quality when it appears. HAIRSPRAY in my opinion isn't one of them.
P.S. Poppa...Some of the silliest and goofiest stuff played Vaudeville and yes it was fun! (From what they tell me and what I've seen on film.) That brings to mind a new topic.

Um, no I don't say that to all of the boys here Anth. And that's because they are boys. Anyone who worships Gavin Creel, wouldn't have much in common with me.

Boy, Bulldog, you are a major pot stirrer. That is why some of us adore you.
Let me start by saying that I have not seen the show yet. But I will catch the tour.
But Bulldog, what possessed you to go in the first place? I mean really, if you hated the movie and knew you might not like the music, why didn’t you just skip it? Not everything is everyone’s cup of tea. Why waste the time and money if there were red flags? Or do you see everything, open-mindedly hoping against hope it will be better than you ever expected? I really am curious.
And B’way Guy 2: If I am not mistaken, Bulldog’s problem was not the weight of the audience around him (unless they were so obese as to make him physically uncomfortable by taking up part of his seat, too) but rather the fact that they were EATING in the theatre! And loudly!! Were there no ushers or other house personnel to put them in their place? That is what dinner theatre is for, people who cannot sit for two hours without shoving something in their mouths. This would hamper my enjoyment of any show, no matter how brilliant it is.
And finally, Bulldog. You had to know what you were stepping into with this post. ![]()

Suellen,
I realise that part of his problem may have been the fact that they were eating. yes, that is a no-no.. but why then did he feel the need to point out their size unless he somehow he took issue with that as well? What purpose did it serve?

Sueleen, Thank you.
I went to see it anticipating to like it and besides the ticket was only $25 bucks after all. I was disappointed that it proved to be mediocore at best and totally underserving of the audience's overly gushing response. A bubble-gum show. Confirming my opinion that the intelligence level of live theatre audience continues to suffer diminish from the dominating and domineering influence of the non-live media as a whole.

Well, you got me there BG2. You'll have to ask him that.
Bulldog, care to elaborate on why the size of these people mattered.
Oh, my water's boiling. I gotta go stir the pot!

so, what are you saying Bulldog?? That shows like Hairspray are crap because they aren't revelatory, groundbreaking pieces of art carefully crafted to make you re-examine your existance and therefor poeple should not enjoy them and anyone who does are less than brilliant??
UTTERLY, 100% rediculous.
