The Hairspray National tour will play its final performance tomorrow in Los Angeles after 3 years on the road ( I think). Congrats on a sensational run. And good luck to the new non union Networks production about to embark,

I just noticed on its website that they have 3 additonal stops listed. However.. I think that this will already be the non union edition since Jim Vukovich ( spelling) was the one who told me it closes tomorrow and he is officially unemployed. See you in Palm Springs next week Jim!

and Dame.......prepare for heat. Todays high will be 112....God knows what next weekend is....but I get to go to an LAUSD function next Saturday so I'll miss some of it.

It's listed on our Broadway in Knoxville brochure for April 13-15, 2007, so it must be going to start again or just be taking a break.

any future stops will be from a non-equity tour! not the current tour.

I really hope they don't cut the non-equity tour to 90-mins like the Atlanta stop. It would be my only way of seeing the full production without going to broadway!

The Equity tour runs through June 25, unless they have cancelled the last couple of stops. I will check with Jim.

This tour is coming to San Jose on Tuesday for two weeks so it's not closing yet. It still has a few more stops. Then it will close and be replaced by the non-equity tour.

The last stop is in Portland, Or on June 20-25th.

Rehearsals don't even begin until July for the non-equity tour so the tour coming to San Jose next week and Portland is the equity tour.

To be considered, candidates need to be available to attend an interview/audition in New York City on Monday evening, May 15th or Thursday evening, May 18th. Hmm. Maybe Jim just leaves the tour tomorrow. But I could have swore he said the tour closes in LA. In any event.. it is definitly winding down.

I am trying to figure out if I should rent a car and go down to San Jose to see it. If I do, I'd hope they would keep the cast intact for the final 3 weeks of the tour.

Hey Dame, just to correct the facts of the tour's closing. We close on June 25th in Portland, Oregon. That is also MY last day with HAIRSPRAY. I'm not sure how the information got confused but I wanted to make sure everyone had the correct information.

Anything being advertised after June 25th (this includes the official 1st National Tour site, www.HairsprayOnTour.com), will NOT be the 1st National Tour. It will be a NON EQUITY tour being produced by NETWorks.

I just found out that they are advertising future dates for the NON EQUITY tour using all the names and bios of the cast, musicians, creative team, etc., in the 1st National Tour. Any dates on www.HairsprayOnTour.com past June 25th are for the NON EQUITY tour, NOT the 1st National Tour.
