HAIRSPRAY'S DONNA VIVINO

I SAW HAIRSPRAY ON SUNDAY 6/18/06. THERE WERE ALOT OF UNDERSTUDY'S ON THAT DAY AND DONNA VIVINO WAS ON AS TRACY TURNBLAD. IN A WORD "WOW"! I HEARD IT WAS HER FIRST TIME AS TRACY ON BROADWAY BUT YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN IT. THIS GIRL IS A REAL TRIPLE THREAT. HER PERFORMANCE WAS NOTHING SHORT OF PHENOMENAL. SHE BROUGHT THE AUDIENCE TO THEIR FEET! I WOULD SEE HER AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. I HOPE SHE GETS TO GO ON AGAIN.

It was her first time playing the role on Broadway (she'd done it a few times on tour). I agree, she was incredible! Where you at the matinee or evening?

For never having gone on in a very long time...she did a great job. I know it's not too often they have to have one of the Nicest Kids cover Tracy. I've seen Donna on as Prudy/Matron/Gym Teacher not too long ago too and she was very funny in those roles.

I was also at the evening show.

It is good to hear the great reviews she is getting. I remember her as a Young Cosette in LES MIZ and wish her well.

Ah, yes, the original Young Cosette! I saw her as Prudy, etc. and thought she was wonderful! Good to hear that she does well as Tracy.

im glad others enjoyed her as tracy as much as i did!! she brought such great, fresh energy to the role on sunday!

I got the chance to see leslie kritzer in the role last may (also a shelly, tracy u/s)... she was very good. both girls had the very hilarious tiny legs coming out of the fat suit thing goin on, and both also sang the crap out of those songs! so since the shelly's all seem to be powerhouses vocally and shoshana has paved the way... donna as elphaba? they need some new interesting casting anyway!!

saw her for the matinee... she was definitely TOP NOTCH. She went above and beyond what the part calls for, based on what I've seen before. She had a wig malfunction in the first act, but continued anyway without a hitch. I can't wait to see what she does next..
