THE most annoying thing among many about MusicMan is his tendency to say "'Nuff said" to shut down further discussion. So here's some proof that enuff hasn't been said, CUZ THERE'S MORE TO SAY! YAY!
BG2, he's actually handsomer in real life, doesn't look quite so plastic. It was, however, kind of distracting to see those arms with those ever-so-'90s tribal tattoos conducting a musical that takes place before the dawn of cellphones, pagers, and Chelsea boys. Very energetic tho.

You made a comment about him being a narcissitic idiot. do you even know him or just going on based on what you think? you should knock people that you don't know. I thought the show was great and the conductor really knew what he was doing!

Hairspray 27, I like your response to what has become a rather interesting thread about the HAIRSPRAY tour's musical director!
I saw the show two consecutive nights in Rochester, and Jim Vukovich is a great musical director and conductor. There's alot to learn by watching and knowing people like Jim.
Who cares if he has tattoos?! By the way, he wears them well! At least he's honest with who he is, what he does, and how he looks. Narcissistic Idiot? I THINK NOT!!! Jim looks like he's totally enjoying his job when he's conducting! If I were a cast member, I'd definitely be 'charged' by his contagious enthusiasm! It would be hard to have a 'bad day' on stage!
Professional? No question about it--YES!!!
I had the opportunity to chat with Jim after both shows. He is as energetic an individual as he is a muscial director, and is also warm, sincere, down-to-earth, funny, honest--and doesn't 'beat around the bush' in his conversation. It takes guts to put oneself out there like that, and I think Jim's choice of attire is more than appropriate for such an upbeat show!
"Never judge a book by its cover." C'mon people, give him a break! You know what, if people didn't take risks, HAIRSPRAY--THE MUSICAL wouldn't have happened--on Broadway or on tour! Why do the risk-takers have to be subject to such scathing ridicule?!
Apparently, some people just aren't used to seeing REAL professionals at work!
Jim, if you happen to read this, "kudos" to you! Keep up the fabulous work, and never apologize to anyone for being yourself and putting every ounce of enthusiasm into your work!
For those of you who insist on being critical, I dare you to put yourself out there!
