HAIRSPRAY VEGAS, NOT GOING SO WELL?

So I am hearing from peeps that Hairspray is not doing very well in Las Vegas. Any Thoughts? I must say that I love Hairspray and I did a show out in Vegas a couple years ago, and it blows me away that they took that show there.Has anyone heard anything about this? or whats happening with it?

When I saw it in March with Harvey and Dick in it it was only maybe 45-50% filled in capacity. Everyone loved it, but it was dissapointing that the theatre was not full.

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

It's chopped up and de-budgeted. It's understandable. The idea of a shortened version always made me really skeptical for some reason. Maybe that's just me?

Maybe it's just Vegas. I still don't believe that a city that can't make up its mind between being a family vacation spot or a hideaway for sexual escapes will be the next big show spot.
