"To be or not to be,
that is the question."
The answer: not to be. At least, I didn't stay long enough to see if the show actually went up (I left at 8:25, when the deluge was so intense that I could feel fish swimming in my sneakers.)
Of course, the one time I'm actually rained out of Shakespeare in the Park is the one time I have good seats. It's the higher power getting me back for not being able to use the seats the 1st time this season.
I'd be surprised if it did ever go up. I'm on the Upper West Side, and the weather here has only gotten worse since 8:30.

I didn't think it would be possible for them to go up and stay within the time limits of the park. It's a 3.5 hour production give or take, and even if the rain did stop at 8:30, it would have taken at least a half hour to sop up the flood!
Oh well.
It never went up. It was called at about 8:40. Unfortunately we can't go past midnight, park rules. This is actually the 2nd or 3rd time we've had to stop the show. The first 2 times was because the rain was so bad, the other time was during that horrible storm that occured right during a huge monologue...it was amazing and dramatic but dangerous lol.
