Just saw Harvey today and I was pleasantly surprised! Jim was very entertaining
On the stage and even though their were a few Sheldonisms that popped up, I thought this was a whole new character for him...the rest
Of the cast was wonderful...Jessica Hect was pretty darn funny, but I can't
Say I was blown away by her performance...everyone was really good, but Jim
Was the only one who the really stood out for me....overall definitely worth seeing!
As far as the stage door: Jim Parsons comes out and will
Sign and take pictures with everyone if you ask him....(regardless of
What the security guards say)...he was super nice!

Really late posting this, but I saw the matinee on the 19th. Overall, I loved the cast and the show. Parsons was adorable, Hecht was delightfully manic, and Kimbrough and Kane were their usual great performances. There were a few line flubs, but nothing major (I also think a few "flubs" were lines that drift off and the cue wasn't picked up quickly enough). I did notice Kimbrough seemed to be limping, and couldn't tell if it was him or a character choice. I wanted to smack the actress playing Myrtle, but that was more because the character was a whiny little bee-yotch, so I guess she did her job well. The others were decent, but not standouts.
The set was incredible, and I loved the scene change choreography. The play itself drags a bit toward the end (Dr. Chumley's fantasy, for one) and could stand some trimming. The whole subplot with the secretary and the younger doctor did absolutely nothing for me -- and I didn't fault the actors for it; it just seemed like filler. I think the play holds up pretty well, though.
I was disappointed that Harvey didn't get a bow during curtain calls. :)

I too was disappointed that Harvey did not get any recognition at the end. =D
Anyone know how I can get a copy of the portrait of the two?

Posted: 6/8/12 at 12:35pmI'm fascinated by the idea of Jim Parsons as Elmwood--has anyone done rush for this show recently? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, I'm travelling into the city in two weeks and would love to catch this play if possible. Thanks!
