HARVEY out of "Hairspray" into "Fiddler"

Well, it seems that my suggestion that it might be interesting to see Mandy Patinkin in "Fiddler" met with an almost unanimous "ugh." So...what about Harvey Fierstein as "Tevye?" Or...even as "Golde?" He could alternate roles during the week. Or play both simultaneously. Producers could save a ton of money by employing one actor for two roles.

Sounds good to me! I think Harvey should be in everything, heck I'd love to see him as The Phantom!

let's get really silly...cast the man as Fanny Brice or Norma Desmond... No! how about Nellie "blank-bush" from South Pacific. At least he'd be a good match for 70 yr. old Robert Goulet as DeMille!!! hssssssssssss...... ::feeling a bit devilish today::

Harvey as Tayve? Thats the most ridiculous idea ever... now, Phantom- thats brilliant!

Or perhaps be Idina's star replacement! Kristin has one, why not Idina? And look at that, if both gals are out, you get two Hairspray stars reunited in the Land of Oz.

How about Harvey as Mrs. Meers in TMM? lol He could pull of kabookee (sp?) makeup.

I dont totally dismiss the idea of Him being Tevye. HE is a great performer and could bring something new to the role.

I agree 100% HoldmeB, as a matter of fact if there was more distance from his leaving Hairspray and Fiddler opening I'd of said they should of pleaded with him to do it, he or his energy is what the production is kind of lacking at present.
