Interesting! I love both Scott and Wilson, so my excitement level definitely bumped up. Personally I really disliked this play, but I think it could work better as a film. In particular, they’ll have to get rid of that awful, cheesy self-aware framing device. And hopefully do away with the rest of the narration as well.
Playbill is reporting that the movie will get its HBO premiere only next month. The announcement is a bit odd - first of all, because it's coming so soon before the release without any apparent lead-up. Made even stranger by the fact that there's no specific date announced. I guess this isn't so uncommon with streaming movies though, especially when they aren't expected to be mainstream money-makers for them.
I stand by everything I said in my November post above. Will be curious to watch it with an open mind, despite my dislike of the play.
