Heathers, an Anti-Hughesian dark comedy which signaled a shift in culture, features a pair of homicidal high schoolers in love. Released at the end of the exuberant '80s, it heralded the cynicism and sarcasm of the '90s. Can the Off-Broadway transfer channel the nihilism of the original into something shiny enough to dazzle?
