HELLO, DOLLY's 43rd Anniversary

As always, I sent my yearly letter to my congressman, urging him to support making January 16th a Federal Holiday. He doesn't even respond anymore.

However, I've also sent an e-mail to the post office urging themn to issue a HELLO, DOLLY! commemorative stamp. I haven't heard back from them.

We can all celebrate this great day by wearing Gallagher Levi red tomorrow. I'm providing all my co-workers with a luncheon and they've all promised to wear red.

It'll be constant Jerry Herman music in the English office tomorrow. That Streisand Woman's cousin is eager to hear the Israeli version of the show.

I'll watch the movie AND Jerry Herman's Broadway tomorrow! Okay, I'm going to have to listen to the Carol Channing Deluxe Cast Recording on my iPod while I work out tomorrow, too.

We need a revival starring Angela Lansbury!!

I suddenly feel so old, but I can still remember the thrill of first seeing Channing's performance, hearing Herman's score and drooling at Champion's incredible Staging.

I've missed a chance to see Victoria Clark and Lenora Nemetz do Dolly because I didn't get the show until after they had closed the productions.

Oh well. Happy Dolly Day, everyone!

Perhaps you should contact the same party you are soliciting for the "Immacuate Conception" Holy Day excused abscence. Then you could have a dual celebration; one for Mary on Dec. 8th and one for Saint Dolly Day on Jan.16th.

Yup, made a nice lunceon for my co-workers and just got back from a nice dinner at the Pine Grove Inn--a German restaurant that could easily pass for the Harmonia Gardens!
