Does anyone else collect these CDs? In the early 1990's, Smithsonian Collection of Recordings released song collections of well-known American composers, many of the songs sung by the most popular American vocalists (Sinatra, Garland, Crosby, Clooney, etc). Most if not all of the composers are well-know to Broadway: Greshwin, Rogers & Hart, Cy Coleman, Harold Arlen, Jule Styne, Dorothy Fields, Alan Jay Lerner, etc. There are about 25 different CDs.
They are all out-of-print and over the last couple of years, I've been collecting them. I was CONVINCED I finally had the entire series until today when I discovered for the first time that there is a Oscar Hammerstein II CD.
Does ANYONE have a list of ALL the CD that were included in the series? I have searched high and low on the Smithsonian website with no luck. Know of any website that has this information? Do you have the Hammerstein CD?
Any help appreciated! Thanks!
"Do you know ChrisLovesShows?" "Yes. Why, yes he does!"
