HELP!

I'm auditioning for the role of Polly in "Crazy for You", should I sing something from the musical or something different? I am a lyric soprano. Any suggestions you could give me would be great.

something from a different musical.
"Picture "The View," with the wisecracking, sympathetic sweethearts of that ABC television show replaced by a panel of embittered, suffering or enraged Arab women" -the Times review of Black Eyed

re: HELP!

call up the director/casting director and see what they are looking for. often times they will tell you exactly what they want.

re: HELP!

hmm, something stylistically not too far away. Perhaps a different Gershwin Show. Hmm "The Man I love" isn't included in the Songs of "Crazy for you", perhaps that one.

re: HELP!

its always good NOT to sing a song from the show because if the director has a vision on what he/she wants it to sound or look like, and if urs isnt just like that, it could rule you out immediately.

re: HELP!

I only get to sing one song, do you suggest a ballad as opposed to something up tempo? "The Man That I Love" is that Gershwin also? Thanks

re: HELP!

They're going to be tired of hearing songs from the show, so just sing something Gerswhinesque
