HELP!#0
Posted: 3/6/05 at 6:21pmI'm auditioning for the role of Polly in "Crazy for You", should I sing something from the musical or something different? I am a lyric soprano. Any suggestions you could give me would be great.

re: HELP!#2
Posted: 3/6/05 at 6:24pmcall up the director/casting director and see what they are looking for. often times they will tell you exactly what they want.

Posted: 3/6/05 at 6:26pmhmm, something stylistically not too far away. Perhaps a different Gershwin Show. Hmm "The Man I love" isn't included in the Songs of "Crazy for you", perhaps that one.

Posted: 3/6/05 at 6:29pmits always good NOT to sing a song from the show because if the director has a vision on what he/she wants it to sound or look like, and if urs isnt just like that, it could rule you out immediately.

Posted: 3/6/05 at 8:04pmI only get to sing one song, do you suggest a ballad as opposed to something up tempo? "The Man That I Love" is that Gershwin also? Thanks
re: HELP!#7
Posted: 3/6/05 at 8:10pmThey're going to be tired of hearing songs from the show, so just sing something Gerswhinesque
