Hey all, for those of you still in HS. Its that time of year when some are auditioning for their shows! Wondering what you all are doing at your HS. I was just cast for our production of WEST SIDE STORY. I will be playing ACTION, and I also am the understudy for TONY! So I'm very excited about our production! Especially knowing I have a show-stopping Number that I can have tons of fun with! ("GEE, OFFICER KRUPKE") I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

TTL- I'm not trying to be rude, or superior by correcting you or anything, but for future reference, it's "I was cast", not "I was casted". I'm sorry if that upset you; some people get pissed when they stand corrected. re: re: re: HS Musicals

As for my High School musical, Freshmans don't usually get big parts, that is, if cast at all. But my school is doing "Carnival", and I'm auditioning anyway-hehe.

My HS just did "A Chorus Line" for their musical... They had to alter the lyrics to the tits and ass song a bit. And they did "The Elephant Man" awhile back, too.

Our school is doing "The Music Man." I really want to be Harold Hill, but I have a feeling it will go to a senior, which is unfair because (not to sound conceited) I think I can do the role much better. Plus, I think I'm the only one in the school looking forward to doing it. Most people that try out expect to get the leads part (and usually do) and then complain the whole time about it.

My Fair Lady is my school's show.

I am playing Trumpet 1 in the Pit Orchestra, which is much more fun than doing our crappy musicals.

My school is putting on 'Hello, Dolly.' The play that was put on previously was 'The Children's Hour,' which was debated against before finally deciding to allow them to perform it. I guess the teachers don't like the subject matter.

I'm hoping and praying for the role of Frank Butler in our production of Annie Get Your Gun. Audition will be the first week in January. I just hope you don't go to my school -- Bernadette88, otherwise you're my competition.

My former high school is doing WEST SIDE for their competition show, my really good friend is Tony, and we did ANNIE GET YOUR GUN last year (I was Annie) which as hokey as it is at times was probably one of the most fun roles/shows I've ever done with CHICAGO (Roxie) coming a very close second. Good luck to all those auditioning for their shows!

Wait a moment. What happened to this thread? Why does the screen look like this? Why is the font Times New Roman? Is it just my computer? I'm confused.

Wow, Defying Gravity2, your school does 13 shows a year? Its hard for our school to manage two! We just finished Bad Seed at our school and are doing Annie Get Your Gun for our spring musical. I'm trying out for Dolly or Winnie- either part would be lots of fun! My mom's high school use to do 5 shows a year and I thought that was a lot! Break legs with all your parts!
