#1Hair Review on July 25th (evening) Lotto Seats

After 4 failed lotto attempts I finally won on the July 25th evening show. I was so happy because ever since the show was in the park I have been dyeing to see it. Just not the person to stay out in central part all night. And I have been trying the lotto for the show since it hit the big white way. I never saw a production of Hair so I didn't really know too much about the show except the gist of it and some of the main songs (Aquarius, Let the Sun Shine In, Hair, etc etc.) The understudies were Saycon Sengbloh on as Dionne, Nicole Lewis as Abraham Lincoln, and Chasten Harmon as a tribe member. I was slightly disapointed for Sasha Allen being out hearing all the really positive things about her but was just so happy that Gavin and Will were in, and her understudy was sensational. The lotto seats I found really good. We were in the right box first 2 seats. Overall I really LOVED the show. I thought the production itself was very well put together. The set and lighting really accented the show well. The Al Hirschfeld was the PERFECT theatre for it. I couldn't imagine the show anywhere else. Every member of the tribe was so into their specific character and really showed their strength off. I really enjoyed the cast interaction I felt like that was one of the best parts of the show. I thought Gavin and Will along with the rest of the cast were amazing. Diane Paulus beautifully directed the show and was really robed for the Tony. I thought the other tony that Hair deserved (among many) was lighting. I really was beautifully lit, and fit the show so well. I would recommend this show to anyone except kids. HAHA

Saycon plays Abraham Lincoln, so that's why Nicole Lewis went on that night. I'm assuming Chasten was going on for Nicole's track since she was filling in for Saycon. Saycon performed as Dionne on Conan O'Brien. Her riffs aren't as powerful as Sasha's but she still sounds excellent...and the starshines say that she emotes very well. I'm glad you had a great time! Kids shouldn't see this show...but mature teenagers definitely should!
