The new Hair recording will be in stores May 3rd! Another fine Ghostlight/Shhh-K-Boom/Razor&Tie/Sony/BMG release!
I can't wait!
Now if Seth would do Pippin next year....

Posted: 4/7/05 at 3:54pmYeah I don't know how this will impact those preorders from Shhh-K-Boom. I imagine those will ship when ready. This will be distrubuted through Sony/BMG and be in fine record stores everywhere!

I ordered mine the day it was availible for pre-order. I will be at a different address starting May 2nd, does anyone know how to change the address on my order? I definately assumed it would be here before then...

A Playbill article dated today says:
"The Hair CD — recorded Oct. 1, 2004 at the Hit Factory — will arrive in stores June 14 on the Ghostlight Records label, Sh-K-Boom Records' new imprint."
Yet, in this thread folks are saying it hits stores May 3rd. I'm guessing that maybe the folks who ordered and already paid for it will start getting it May 3rd, but it will be 'officially released' in stores on June 14th.
Anyone have a definitive answer? It shouldn't take "at least a few weeks" to have CDs reprinted like Sh-K-Boom said. At this point, whether the error was their own fault or the CD duplicating comapany's fault, they need to put a rush on it. There is no reason they shouldn't be able to rush stamp out a few thousand CDs in one week.

that's interesting that they are promising Hair for May 3rd. I just spoke with someone at Sh-k-boom bc my Bright Lights still hasn't arrived. It sounded like they still haven't sent all the defective Hairs back to the production co. Also, Playbill.com announced they would be in stores in June. AND - Sh-k-boom, in their apology, said we'd get ours first as loyal customers.
Interesting. can't wait to see how this all ends.

There are several releases coming from Ghostlight in a new arrangement with Sony/BMG. They just rescheduled Little Women and I wouldn't be surprised if this gets moved, also. Unlike most major label releases, all the Ghostlight releases are being scheduled to ship "When ready" with release dates "tentative."
I am guessing that they might be trying to get Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Currently scheduled 5/10) and Spelling Bee out first because those are the most likely to be impacted by Tony awards.

Posted: 4/14/05 at 9:59pmI ordered BARE and HAIR several weeks ago. I just received BARE today with a note saying that they are still awaiting the arrival of the HAIR cds and that a special thank you gift will be with it.
