Hairspray?

Does anyone have any idea if they are still planning to bring 'Hairspray' to the west end?
If so, have they already cast Tracy? Whats the bet they cast another super skinny girl to play it, if they advertise for an 'extremely overweight' girl to play it, then why go all against that and cast someone so slim?

(Never knew i moaned so much...i'll put it down to being passionate! haha)

I keep hearing it's coming, late 2007. I've been told they need to get the big shows out of the way first, then they're going back to Hairspray. Who knows though. Fingers crossed.

hi guys

just wanted to let you know that hairspray will national tour the uk in 2007 prior to a west end run
This has been told to me by a theatre manager from one of the biggest touring venues in the country the manchester palace theatre

so yeah run and tell that

Aw thats sweet of you, im not a casting director - i know some - but i am to do with Theatre in the West End - Senior role in quite a large company which i wont say obviously!

But take my word for it, Hairspray will be seen in London!! It was pushed further when the film was firmed up - they want it London by the time the film opens up there - good avertising for it. 2006 was looked into but with so many shows they thought Hairspray would be too overshadowed - with big shows like Wicked/Sound of Music/Spamalot/Evita another big show would be lost - so 2007 Hairspray will be one of the first to announce and thus making it one of 2007's must have theatre tickets!

all the info on there is correct but from someone who works in the west end belive me when i say hairspray WILL national tour first before entering the west end that info im a 100 percent sure about
