Hairspray Auditions

Hairspray will be holding open call auditions for the Broadway show and the national tour on Sep. 29 9am-5pm (8:30 sign in).
Non-Equity and Equity performers are welcome; no previous theatrical experience is necessary. They are also looking for the following principals:

TRACY: a heavyset, vibrant, lovable Caucasian female who is 5’3” or shorter with an amazing singing voice and movement ability. An unstoppable teen heroine.

SEAWEED: a groovy, sexy African-American male with a knockout, soulful pop singing voice and movement ability. Tracy’s high school buddy.

LITTLE INEZ: a spunky African-American female who is 5’1” or shorter, ages 9 - 13, with a strong singing voice. Seaweed’s little sister.

EDNA: a funny, grand, physically large Caucasian male character actor/singer who can convincingly play a woman. Tracy’s outrageous mother.
