Hairspray Matinee Today

My friend and I went to the Hairspray matinee today for the first time and I thought it was fantastic. The whole cast was great. I knew I would like it but I didn't expect it to be so funny and enjoy it as much as I did. I adored Shannon Durig and Aaron Tveit. Diana DeGarmo was hilarious and I thought she was great. Haylie Duff wasn't horrible but wasn't amazing. She really had no effect on me--it was almost like she wasnt really there.

During Timeless to Me--in one of the breaks of the song Stephen DeRosa (Wilbur) kept going vroom-vroom over and over that Blake had to turn away cause he couldn't compose himself and he kept going stop stop softly. Since it was my first time seeing it--it may always be like that but from Blakes reaction I didn't think so and the audience was hysertical. Also Stephen makes a comment about not knowing if a man's jewish and Blake was like you can always tell and Stephen's face was hysertical. (again that may be in there all the time I dont know)

I hope to get back there soon cause it was such a fun show and I enjoyed it. I will tell people about it and I believe I am going to take my mom.

The circumsion joke is always there. The long standing debate is whether the TtM banter is staged.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Hairspray is one of my favorite shows and it's so underappreciated.

Glad you enjoyed the show! Yes, the "Timeless" break is always there. As of late, Blake has thrown in the line "We're in so much trouble!" after the circumcision joke.

the break is always there, but what they do is up to them, it isnt scripted. Ive seen them do all sorts of different things, but it usually ends in them giggling. I love it, I think its the most appropriate thing to do in the break- as opposed to cracking jokes about pop culture and such.

Glad you loved Hairspray, its my favorite show. I haven't seen it since Blake took over the role of Edna. I need to get back out to see him in the role.
