Posted: 11/13/05 at 7:06pmi saw it in 2004 and the cast has changed quite a bit, but when i saw it, it was nothing short of amazing, especially the understudies (VERY TALENTED!)

I admit to being a bit of a stalker to these boards but I finally feel it's time that I post. I went to see the tour twice this week in Toledo and was more than happy that I did.
At first, I was a little upset to find that so many understudies were going to play on the days that I was there, but it worked out fine. I've seen Keala perform in the past and absolutely adore her, but must say that her understudy Christine Danelson is fantastic. The girl can sing and dance and doesn't seem to tire at all! You can tell that this one is really a kid and works well with the rest of the cast.
Of course Charlotte Crosby was right up to her usual Motormouth brillance and Joan Blagg was hysterical in her roles, although the understudy that I saw for her on Saturday, Stephanie Fittro was also able to pull off the parts quite well. I also enjoyed the way Aaron and Jeremy Woodward, his understudy both performed as Link.
I'd say the tour is well worth seeing!

Posted: 11/14/05 at 7:37pmI saw the show in Syracuse, and it was beautiful. It almost made me cry just seeing the beauty of the show... and I wasn't too thrilled with the cast recording... I listened to it, and just kind of though... "meh..." but I saw the show, and now am a hardcore fan of the show. Even though it was scaled down and everything for a tour. But the cast ws insanely nice. They were performing in the larger of two theatres in the building, while I was performing Beauty and the Beast in the theatre downstairs. They were always cheery, and I am a teacher at a children's theatre that holds it's classes in that building, and we asked if some of the cast could come and talk to our little ones, and even though they were 4-6... they still knew how to get down to their level, and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. The show was fabulous, it had a great cast, and really seemed to enjoy what it was doing. One of my friends who saw -I think- the original cast in New York said that they didn't really look into it in some of the dance numbers, but I thought they were fabulous. Definitely go see it if you get the chance.
