Hairspray in London - new footage

hey guys!

As I am sure we all assume, I am keeping up with the Hairspray in London video blogs. They just posted a video from the first week of tech rehearsals.... I can't wait to see more. A few things I noticed in this video -- the portals and stage apron have been completely changed from any of the previous companies, the stage itself is more narrow, but seems deeper. Inez seems to be wearing a costume that has traditionally been reserved for just the understudies and a few of the Nicest Kids seem to have newly designed costumes... I can't wait to see, and hear, much more. Leanne's "Baltimore" sounds great!

Thank you for sharing that...I don't remember them having the kids in the background like that for GMB I remember it for WITH OUT LOVE...maybe it's jut been a while for me..

The dancing shadows have always been a part of the initial verses of "baltimore". Here, however, they give you a great view of what goes on behind the curtain.

I don't like Amber's wig. And Velma's last name isn't Turnblad (they made an error in the video). Also, was the actress playing Velma just in the balcony watching the cast reheare, or is that part of the show (Velma watching them)?

I said something about the original Edna's wigs and I got laughed at.


The show is about BIG HAIR.

Yeah, the wigs are waaaay too flat. Shelly's is one of the worst. Velma's looks good, though.

I love Leanne's voice as well, and I can't get over how fetching Ben is!
