Hairspray in Los Angeles and Questions

I plan on seeing Hairspray soon, and since I didn't get to see the full original cast on Broadway, and I get to see a bunch here, I wanted to know where the stage door is, so I could perhaps meet the actors/sign poster, etc...

However, I've never stage door-ed in Los Angeles, only in New York, where it is well tolerated, if not universally accepted. Is it considered incredibly inappropriate to go to the stage door after the show here?

Advice, please.

the stage door is on the right side of the theater. go straight out the doors, up the street. youll pass a defunct hollywood memoriabilia store. turn right and youll see it. when i saw the producers, there were no barriers or anything because none of the actors came out. granted, it was a sunday matinee.

Or, just ask one of the ushers the quickest way to the stage door. I believe there is a "short-cut" through the lobby (when you are exiting the house going into the lobby, head to your left).

There will be barricades but they don't mind having people wait. Be sure to stop by and say HI!

Stage door -- exit theater to your LEFT. Go to the corner and turn left. After you walk a small distance you'll find a ramped entrance and no doubt others waiting there, too.

Theatre Diva, thanks for adding the lobby exit to the stage door area in the directions. When I went backstage after The Producers (my first time at The Pantages), I worked my way from the front orchestra section through the massive crowds in this massive theater all the way out the usual exit, then around the corner. Once I got to the stage door area, what do I see but that exit from the side of the lobby!!! If there's ever a next time, I'll know the shortcut!
