Okay.. and now it is time for the half-witted ramblings of a sleepless 20 year old... :)
Carly Jibson is downright adorable in that costume.. you just want to eat her up witha spoon. Having heard her "Good Morning Batlimore" and read what EVERY PERSON who has posted about the tour anywhere has said, they MUST bring this girl to Broadway when Kathy leaves. And one more thing.. Marissa who?
Bruce Vilanch.. I finally figured out what he reminds me of in those costumes.. a flamboyant, gay turtle. I will have nightmares for weeks now.
Austin Miller as Link.. I am SO digging the hair.
Terron Brooks.. you can only see him as Seawwed in one of the pics in teh background, but geez.. did Motormouth give birth to him when she 10?
Jordan Ballard.. my god, what happened to the poor girl's wig?! It looks like someone stepped on it. Amber's wig looks very flat there.
Sue Cella.. she makes a pretty Velma. I still am used to seeing Linda as Velma so anytime I see a visual other than that, it takes it a second to compute.
Now for the 'Nicest Kids In Town'....
WHY can they NEVER EVER get a picture puiblished with Shelley's face. The pic they used in the CD booklet, you could only see the bow on Shoshana's head. Here, you can only see the bow on Donna's head. The Lou Ann (redhead on right) dress is totally different and what in did they use big gingham print on Brenda's blouse for? I like the original better. Picky, yes.. I know.. I am having one of those days. IQ's vest is gone and Jesse Johnson is so much more slender than Todd Michel Smith. I wish you could get a better view of Bryan West (Sketch) than forehead and shoulder.. however, no matter who plays IQ and Sketch, Adam and Todd will always hold a fond memory and I will never get them out of my head when watching or looking.
Bring Alli Mauzey back to Broadway!! Wether as Brenda or as Penny, I would love for her to be back in NYC.
Where the pics of Sandra DeNise as Penny? I want to see her workin' it in the purple beaded dress.
And one last thing... Margo Lion with the blue hair.. I love Margo to death.. but geez, she looks like a scary, flamingly gay senior citizen and frankly, it frightens me. And yes, I SOO think her son is ridiculously gorgeous.
Does anyone have an understudy list for the tour?? I only know these ::
Keala Settle :: standby for Trcay
Kenny Morris :: standby for Edna, Wilbur, and Spritzer/Male authority Figure
Bryan West :: Link Larkin
Lauren Kling :: Penny Pingleton,Prudy Pingleton/Female Authority Figure
Donna Vivino :: Tracy Turnblad
Alli Mauzey :: Penny Pingleton
jacqueline B. Arnold :: Motormouth Maybelle

I'm confused. Did you see the tour or are you making all of your comments based on photos?? It seems odd, especially the "Marissa who?" part. It would lead one to believe you were so blown away by Carly's performance when, I am thinking, you are so blown away by what she looks like in photos (a lot like Marissa, that's who!) and what other people who have seen her have said. And why are you so obsessed with the understudy list and such minutia?? I am not asking this to go on the attack, I'm just wondering. And also wondering if you could make a big difference in this world channeling just a portion of that time and energy into getting somebody other than the president you and I complain about all the time elected next year.

Namo.. I do contribute time and energy in trying to dethrone the reicht wing which is currently in power. :) I don't like the man and I make effort to see that he won't get elected agian. In fact, numerous people I know get very tired of hearing me plug certain Democratic candidates and name off teh statistics of how much bad teh shrub in cheif had done since taking office.
The comments on appearance and such about the photos, as I said, were based on what I saw in those pics and what those pics show. Nothing more.
As far as Carly.. I am going by experience of my own exposure and the unanimous raves from both reviewers and audiences alike.
As far as understudy lists.. I did not know it was odd to be curious about the understudies. Many a time, the understudies are better than the leads, who'd a thunk it, and I am just curious about who covers what role. Is there something wrong in that? Understudies are soo underappreciated....
BwayTheatre11,
given the wig and make up job, one would expect them to look rathers imilar.

Broadwayguy2,
I think you should put down the site that you have found those pixs, like courtesy from sunspote.net.... I think that's manners. But I sure wanted to see the show. But I live in UK! I think Bruce REALLY scared me! He is horrible. He is SO different from Harvey's look! But how was his singing? Is he like Harvey? Is HAIRSPRAY goin' to Westend? I know they will, at least I hope they will! She's Marissa Jaret Winokur. She left the show replaced by Kathy Brier. And Carly real looks like Marissa, and that's so ADORABLE!

ruthie,
I DID credit the source of the photos. And they are considering a west end run of the show.
