HairsprayAvenue Q Lottery tickets?

Hello Everyone,

This forum is a great resource! I am going to be in New York April 12-16. I am wondering if I can get some advice about theatre tickets. I am on a little bit of a budget. Ideally would like to get lottery tickets for Avenue Q or Hairspray for the Tuesday or Thursday shows.

I noticed I can get Millie tickets for $55 in advance and fairly good seating. Also Chicago tickets for $50. Avenue Q tickets for $65.

How good are my chances at getting lottery tickets? $50-$65 a ticket is really out of my budget. Are the lottery seats good seating.

Well at Hairsray they are in the last row of the mezz. I mean there wother the $25 thats your paying. The shows is great and the theater isn't huge so you can see from there. Your best bet is going on a wed since there are 2 shows but normaly it's not as hard to win rush tickets for Hairspray during the week. But it might be hard that week becaseu most of the school in the area are on easter/spring break so It might be a big week to go into the city and see a show. You can also try SRO but I don't know if you would want to stand for the show I have done it twice and it's not bad but it depends on the person.Well hope this helps a little I really don't know at to tell you I niormaly go I weekends when I know the show will be sold out and get SRO tickets so I don't know what is best. I guess I'll be finding out when I try on thursday lol well see what happens. Good luck on the Rush Tickets!
