Great article on Marc Shaiman in today's Washington Post:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/15/AR2005071500363.html
I read the article 5 times to make sure I didn't miss the reference in there to BroadwayWorld, his online home, but then I realized there wasn't a reference to BroadwayWorld in there, and I cried a little. Other than that, a great piece.
sorry Rob, the writer was clearly intimidated by your site and your looks
There, there Rob. I'M SURE Mr Shaiman never meant to slight you/us. (His survival skills w this board are revered almost as much as his abilities as a composer/dogowner) It was probably some off handed editorial decision for length/security. (Yeah that's the ticket...)
P.S. Yeah it is a great article!

OUTSTANDING three page article!! Quite a lovely read!
Terific article. But just one question......
42 ???????
what's the question Dame Smith?
The article is wonderful... In between the Broderick home decor wit (which is just so fun and full of simile) and the charm of the subject (who we all are lucky enough to occasionally experience quasi-first hand), I really enjoyed the read.
And I have to know who Walli's publicist is, because that lovely young thing is getting more press than most popstars!
even The Washington Post cannot ignore the charms of Walli Woo...although rumors of her leaking the Karl Rove story are unconfirmed
42? Uhum
Damela, your 42 question is still unclear
he states I was 42 when the show made me a Tony winning big deal...what is your question??

Marc, would Scott mind if I moved into your apartment?
Lovely article!
Honey. I am only busting your chops. You know I would do you in a second. Wether your 42, 32, or 62. You look delicious.
no problem busting my chops, it just wasn't clear what chop you were busting (still isn't!!)
Oh dear god. I was trying to give you a hard time about your age. I was kidding. I was trying to have some good nature fun with you.
you mean, busting my chops about my age like "you're OLDER than that, bitch" or "I didn't know you were that OLD, bitch" or...
please try to be more clear when you post...a generation looks to you as an elder statesman
actually, quite a few generations look to you as an elder statesman...MANY, MANY generations
xox
LOL. Allright. i will be nice. Great article Marc. I always wish you good things. Now can we get back to the part where I said I will still do you in a second?
Yea to you Marc!
BIG HUGS

Nice write-up, Play Mama!
I was in Philly this weekend and saw the Hairspray ads for next months run. Damn that Marc must be way rich by now.
What a sweet article!
I kind of feel bad for Ree though
sssh, she is looking over my shoulder right now...
AMAZING interview, but they always are fun and candid because Marc is the real deal, he knows who he is and understands the gifts we get and how to use them.
HAIRSPRAY in Philly! I'm gonna take my Mom, Dutchie Varley, the original Edna (she's got the Baltimore/Philly accent to boot!) who will love the show.
Eddie, let me know when you are going in Philly and I will do my damndest to be there that night...meeting Dutchie would be AMAZING!!
DONE! I swear you'll both fall in love and plotz, I'll throw in Right Said Rick too...for the post-show fun!
