I'm going to listen to Hairspray tomorrow. And hey, I did support it here. I bought an expensive ticket, a program, and the cd when it came out.

I need to be in this club too!!!! I've never been to Broadway or NY for that matter and have only seen two tours when they have come to Cali and yet im still obsessed!

I also loved the show. I saw it twice in Chicago and forced my parents to see it in Houston. The loved it, too. It's fun to hear my giant good ole' boy father sing "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now".

During this past weekend's Miss Junior America Show in Atlanta, one of the girls said her dream was to play Tracy Turnblad in HAIRSPRAY, the strange thing about that desire, was she looked and acted just like "Amber"!

I DID, I told her after she left the stage to embrace her "inner Tracy" and be nice to the other girls, I also will say that all the girls adore HAIRSPRAY (they cheered at it's mention!), which is really wonderful and AMAZING!

I would actually say "Hairspray! It's Just That Great!"
Enjoyable all the way through.

I would buy tickets to see the road company when it comes to Ft. Lauderdale but the theatre it's playing in is an enormous horror. You know, a typical touring venue. The Neil Simon thetre seats 1300 people , the Broward Center seats 2900 - How can producers expect audiences to have a great theatrical experience in a cavern? Unless you're in the orchestra in the first twenty rows, you need field glasses. Well, the only tickets left are in the balcony which, in the Broward Center, is a mile away. Sitting at one of the first performances of Hairspray in Seattle, without hearing the score or the hype or anything really, other than knowing the movie and the performers involved, I enjoyed on of the most exciting nights I have ever spent in the theatre. I understand why some people hate it now, as it has such a life around it, but seeing it when nobody knew if it would sink or swim was truly an exhilarating experience.

Hairspray is a wonderful show! When I walked out of the 5th Ave. Theater in Seattle, (Which is where it started. HAHAHAHAHA! sorry, just needed to gloat.) my friend and I were singing "You Can't Stop the Beat."

I absolutely love this show!!! I've seen it 8 times already and each time has been a fabulous experience.

Thanks Marc for a wonderful show with wonderful music. The Hairspray CD makes my cardio workout at the gym so much easier to do.

Marc, I thought you would have reported about the final performance of Hairspray in Toronto. I'm still waiting for my Lou Ann wig!!!

Who decided to change the lyrics from the CD to the show?

Maybe I'm a dork, but I like the Mother daughter Cha-Cha - I think the original cast should make a CD of the songs that were cut from the show (like those in the book).
