I just got this book. Does anyone else have it? I LOVE it! It's got so many amazing pictures and interviews, and I love all the extra little deleted lines and lyrics. The time line is hilarious also!

I love the Hairspray: The Roots book! Though I wish the full script was included. And yes, the broadway coffee table books are REALLY expensive...thats why you get them used from amazon.com (or that's what I do) re: Hairspray: The Roots.

I have the ROOTS! Not that that should shock anyone, I LOVE It it was a lot of fun to read and its fun to looks at the differences in the pictuers from page to page (that should be the same) I also have a signed (Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, and Mark O'Donnell) copy of the script. I also have a very cool copy of the script that few have and I love!

the worst (or best) for inconsistant pictures has to be the beauty and the beast one. Some shots even the actor is different (most notably those of lefou and cogsworth)

the photos in THE ROOTS go from shots taken during tech and the seattle run through the broadway opening. It's be nice to have an edition of the full script with post-opening photos as well as photos of some of the newer costume alterations, most of which i prefer to the originals.

Yes, I know that they go from Seattle to Opening night.

Speaking of new costume changes it upsets me that they don't wear the torn 'Big Doll House' outfits on B-way and more! It also seems strange to me that now Penny has more outfits then Amber since they cut a few of Amber's dresses.. I'm glad they didn't cut Penny's outfits to but it's just odd that the 'princes' has less outfits then the dorky girl, normally (and how it started) it's the other way around..

well, that is the major one... the dresses in big doll house aren't torn any more and amber wears two dresses in act one. the green polka dotted one from "I Can Hear the Bells" and the pink one from the record shop.. then the one she wears when she gets arrested.. and her finale costume..

on tour, Lou Ann's "council dress" is different and Brad has a different costume in the finale. There are some other minor differences.. same design, just variations in the execution.
