Tried the cancellation line with my daughter on Black Friday. Arrived at 5:30am parked across the street from Richard Rodgers Theatre. We were #3 and #4 in line. First in line was a line sitter getting 2 tix who arrived at midnight. Then a woman buying two tix who got there at 4:00am. So we needed 6 tix o be available to get in. Two others arrived 6:00am followed by a couple who arrived at 6:30. By 10:00 there were about 30 in line total.
Everyone in the from of the line was great. Working together for food and bathroom breaks (we used the Marriott bathrooms right next door on the third floor). At. 1:00 a staff member came out to set up separate lines for us and for the people starting to arrive who already had tix. Then, almost immediately after setting up the lines, the people in front of us were called in to get tix. So we got very excited. But then a half hour passed and figured maybe there was nothing left. that's when it happened!
A man came around the corner and pointed to me and asked me to step inside the box office. I couldn't believe it. I paid 200 and change for each ticket. As the usher showed us to our seats we realized we were front row!! Sitting right next the people who were in front of us. I know the two people behind us got in too because we saw them at the ticket counter after we paid but I think that may have been it .
Show was amazing and the wait was well worth it!!
