Having listened to the soundtrack many times in the car and fortunate enough to see the show in January I was wondering if anybody else finds it hard to not hold back tears when listening to it's quiet uptown.I find it to be such a powerful and moving song and it hits you emotionally each time you hear it. Lin may not be the best singer but his voice stirs up so much emotion. To me this is one of the masterpieces on the album.
I also feel it hits your right in the heart during his segment in dear Theodosia when his voice even cracks at times. The man is simply a Genius the way he evokes emotion...
A child like quality exists and two of the songs that come to mind where he says you think I'm stupid I'm not stupid and the second song where he says whatever you heard Jefferson started it.... I crack up each time I hear these two songs played....
guns and ships with the fastest rap I have ever heard. Even knowing all the lyrics I still can't follow his lightning speed rapping....blows me Away how is able to do this every day.....
Jonathan Groff's three songs put a smile on my face each timeI hear them. The lyrics crack me up every time!
wondering which songs most appeal to all of you and why?

In terms of sheer lyrical impressiveness, Washington On Your Side and My Shot are both incredible. In terms of emotion, It's Quiet Uptown, Hamilton's final rap during The World Was Wide Enough and the Finale all get me crying very easily. Every time I think I'm gonna get through that damn finale I hear Eliza start singing about the orphanage and it's impossible not to cry.

I guess the one where Hamilton's mind gets blown out. I'm very empathetic as an audience member.

I mean personally, the Bree best numbers are Wait For It, Satisfied, and Room Where It Happens, but I also love One Last Time.

The Finale, Burr's last verse in The World Was Wide Enough, and It's Quiet Uptown always get me in tears. Lyrically, Satisifed, Non-Stop, and Washington On Your Side. Vocally, Satisfied, One Last Time, The Room Where It Happens, The Finale, the harmonies in the opening, and Helpless give me the chills.
