A HS friend of my youngest daughter will be in the musical "Harmony" which will be playing in Atlanta (Alliance Theatre) beginning Sept 6. I guess my question to everyone is what they think the odds are of this making it to Broadway. I assume a lot will depend on how it does in Atlanta for a month. Not in the business so I was wondering the process of getting a show to Broadway especially when it has a famous composer.

This musical has been circulating since the mid-90s when it premiered in California and then wasn't heard from again. There was some talk of it coming to Broadway about 10 years ago but that never developed. There is no talk of the Alliance production being a Broadway tryout but if it ends up being a big hit that attracts Broadway producers, who knows? I think that's unlikely, however. But how nice for your daughter's friend to be involved, no matter the outcome.
It was already supposed to come to Broadway in 2003/2004.
But the show fell apart because the producer couldn't raise the money. The sets were already built and put in storage.
Wilmington - Thanks for information. He is in the ensemble and was understudy this year in "Forbidden Broadway". He was a great kid in HS and used to jokingly kid my daughter on how she always screwed up the "curve" in AP Math class tests.
