Okay... LOVE Harvey. I'm not even upset that Antonio lost... he was SO incredibly gracious. That was the sweetest speech ever.
Nine winning best musical... *sigh* If Bernadette had only won... I would be estatic right now. Still SO happy about Pawky, Jane, Vanessa, and Nine!

Attempt? Wow- no comment. I was stunned. Antonio really didnt look that upset that he didnt win. I'm happy it went to Harvey. Congrats to Antonio, though. He's doing a great job, and DEFINATELY deserved his nomination.

I am glad Harvey one. I mean, people leave that theatre evryday TRULY convinced that he is a woman. Besids, if Antonio would have one, how much do you want to bet Melanie would have tagged along to the stage???
Like I said in another thread, Rose's Turn seemed a bit forced and off. I will admit to being stunned at the stammered 'mamma's gotta let go' section. Bernadette's take on that line is the only time where seeing it, I have understood the meaning of that line in the performance.
it is also key to remember that what you see on the Tony's is not necessarily what the nominators and voters saw in the theatre.
In my humble opinion
, it seemed like everyone kind of knew who the winners were going to be. No one seem surprised at the win except Brian Dennehy. He is, to me, a fantastic actor and I cannot wait to see him in his play in August. Antonio was gracious and charming, as always. I just wish he would get rid of that barracuda clinging to his arm. She is so pathetic. I love Harvey and would not want to take anything away from him but I also think Nine and Man of LaMancha should have gotten more awards. It seemed like a go for Hairspray no matter who else was nominated.
