Honey,
Harvey needs to be center and front. That role is not large enough for the larger then life Diva named Harvey.
He deserves more.

I agree with Corine, a person of Harveys girth and calibre needs more than a role like that to really make an impression. What about Elphaba?
BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"

Definitely can't see Harvey as the wizard. I guess from seeing Joel I picture him as a little old man. But I definitely don't want to see Harvey in that spot...or as Morrible. Although some wouldn't agree...there are some shows that he just couldn't fit in..and I think Wicked's one of them...

No. He is bigger. He is great as Tevye in Fiddler.
On the one hand, he is a warm Father with motherly tenderness and on the other hand he is a genius.
Harvey is perhaps one of the finest comedic actors on Broadway.
And he is the hostess with the mostess.
Love him.
I would love to see him in La Cage though.

Harvey in Wicked? OY. I don't think so.
Harvey in La Cage as ZSA ZSA. Now we are talking.
Harvey as Edna again. PLEASE. He is the best Edna.
Villanch carries Edna but Harvey is the ultimate Edna.
Harvey is bigger, better then anyone or anything.
He is the best Mama and Papa around.
Love Harvey Fierstein. May he rule the World.
And then adopt me.

His Fiddler performance (Regis and Kelly on my computer) had to grow on me a little bit.

I constantly say and stand by my idea that Harvey Fierstein should play Elphaba. I can hear his sandpaper voice singing as he goes up in that harness, "It's meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!"

Calgon take me away....
I bet Harvey would be the best parent.
He should play parents but with LARGE PARTS.
The wizard is such a terrible role.
Harvey needs to be the STAR.

I agree, he should be in La Cage but I don't think he ever would considering the fact he wrote the book for it.

::counts high notes::
The wizard BARELY acts - he mainly sings and he mainly sings HIGH notes.
He was horrible in Fiddler.
So, no, I can't see it.
SEAN MCCOURT FOREVER!
