as per TV guide.com:
Gravelly voiced theater vet Harvey Fierstein, who originated the stage role of Hairspray's Edna Turnblad, is developing a Fox sitcom in which he will play a blue-collar mom with two kids in Seaside Heights, N.J. The show is described as "Roseanne-ish," although with a possibly more feminine lead.

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR TRAVOLTA.
Side bar: Harvina's next door neighbors:
Bruce Vilanch, Julie Halston and Charles Busch. That would be some show.
I want my Harvey TV!
Edna tv?
WORK IT BABE!

Posted: 12/5/05 at 2:07pmI worked on a pilot about 8 years ago with Dudley Moore and Harvey. I do love Harvey but I think he is way too big ( acting wise) for the small screen. still. he is great and if it works it would be great. A nicer man I have not met.

With a sitcom they need to give him the role of Edna.
