Has NINE's Production Schedule Changed Yet Again?

The more and more I read actors' interviews and such, the more I'm convinced this film might not happen at all.
This is an article about Cruz' next film with famed director Pedro Almodovar whose "production is already under way on location in Madrid and the Canary Islands."
Quizzically, Cruz insisted during a press tour last month for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" that she'd be busy the next few months deep in rehearsals for her role in Rob Marshall's big-screen adaptation of the musical "Nine." Her, and perhaps Marshall's, plans appear to have changed, opening the door for "Embraces."
Expected to be finished for release sometime in 2009, that time frame would be extremely convenient for "Embraces" to snag a slot during next spring's Cannes Film Festival.

Posted: 9/9/08 at 12:45pmI think there is always the possibility that not all the actresses will be needed for the entire film shoot of NINE. Perhaps Cruz's scenes would be shot later in the schedule. The article also doesn't specify the size of Cruz's potential role in Almadovar's new movie. I don't really see anything to raise an eyebrow here yet.
