Why did I think that Ragtime was a revival?! Strange. Oh well, he needs another part written for him in mind.

I also saw him in his first Broadway musical Mail, back in the late 80s and that was an original show (not a great one, but, original nonetheless).

Everytime I hear someone talk about Ragtime, I get angry at myself for not getting the recording yet...

He did not originate the role in Kiss of the Spiderwoman. He did on Broadway but the role was originated by I believe Anthony Crivello.

Yes, Stokes took over the role from Anthony Crivello who originated the role of Valentin.

Carver was really the highlight for me. The score wasn't fantastic as far as Kander and Ebb go I thought it was merely acceptable instead of their usual brilliance.
