Has anyone ever heard of this?

Okay, so my brother and a few of his friends went to see Little Shop here in Chicago this past Saturday night. Apparently when he got there they said that there would be an understudy going on for Ronette that night. No biggy right? Well, apparently when the show started...Ronette was the only one of the three girls who was in it that night. So instead of a trio it was only one girl. He said it was very distracting because in songs like Suddenly Seymore, the two would be singing a love song together and then there would be one girl on the side gesturing towards them and stuff. At one point he said she poked her head out a window...but a light came up on a totally different window. Pretty odd. Was anyone else there or can offer up an explanation to what happened? Has anyone else ever heard of anything like this...in any show...ever? Just wondering.

I've seen versions of little shop (high school) that had 6-9 ronettes (sp?). Just awful when u change things like that it completly changes the feel of the show.
