Honestly, I'm suprised noone else has caught on yet. Considerring right now that Shrek is at about where Beauty & the Beast was all those years ago, how long until their next show hits Broadway? Perhaps a little longer in this economy, but eventually, what will be their next Broadway venture? Their "Lion King" persay? How about one of their best reviewed movies "Prince of Egypt"? Surely, unlike the Shrek movies, this one will fit right in on stage. Otherwise, maybe "Flushed Away", or maybe go into their live action catalogue, and musicalize one of those? I know "Catch Me if You Can" is supposed to be produced by them but what else? Unless Shrek flops, how many people think this would be Dreamworks Theatrical's next stage musical?

No other Dreamworks movie would work as a musical.

I don't see why this is a bad idea.

Hercules or that Disney? either way it would work
or they could TRY Madagascar it would not work but they can try.
"I don't see why this is a bad idea."
Neither do I. I don't know if the OP thinks it is a bad idea, but "invading" implies that it is.
There's tons and tons of shows to see in NYC. Why is it bad that some of Broadway is commercialized? Theater is crucial to NYC's economy, and we need shows that pull in big bucks.
Please lord NO MADAGASCAR! It would just turn into a stupid show like Sesame Street Live and Blues Clues on Stage.
I was thinking it might look more like The Lion King, but still, there is no need to do it!
