Oh, okay. I thought it was a typical revival.
Well, in that case, yes Cyndi would be a better choice.
I'm not against experimentation...in the theatre

The more I think about it, I'd rather see Cyndi Lauper in her own one-woman-show, or in a production w/a more contemporary theme.
As fantastic as I think she would be as Mrs. Lovett on Broadway, I'm pushing more for her to release her Brand new CD, expected in early fall '05.

They should have gone with cyndi... much more exciting and not such a safe choice.
as good as patti is this choice feels boring to me.
Yes..mean ol' Patti should have turned down a job that she wanted just so little Cynid could do it.
Is this how it's done at your community theater?
rcalhoun, I would love to see Cyndi as Lovett.......but don't give up on Broadway!!!! It is always full of dreams and promises and fantasies and sometimes shattered hopes and devestation. BUT...when it comes to life--and we all sit together in the dark.........and a show begins.......we know something real and live will happen that may give us goosebumps or thrilling memories that will last forever. NEVER give up on Broadway.

Thanks for the *Pep Talk*
I've been feeling terrible all day about this news.
I hate being a poor sport, but Cyndi would of been *Amazing*
She really deserved to get it.
And since when does Broadway play it safe?...and Sweeney Todd...with all its eccentricities.
Just aggravated by it all...
I don't think pati stole the role but i was looking foward to cyndi. It is a shame in my eyes but whatever. I will probablly see it anyway though.
