Heathers...The Musical?!

So, I just heard about this. I'm having a hard time picturing it. A play, maybe, but a musical? Its not exactly cheery and peppy, not that a musical has to be, but I cant imagine one scene in the movie where the characters would burst into song.
Either way, I love Heathers and I'm excited

I know Larry O'Keefe is composing, but does anyone know any casting rumors or any other news?

Classic line that Heather #1 said to Veronica in the cafeteria. LOVE that movie!!!

They're still writing; no demos have even been done yet. So, no casting yet either.

But I can't wait...

Oh my goodness gracious, now this is one of my all time favorite movies, right up there with the original Hairspray. Oh that lucious Christian Slater aka Jason Dean. Just think they could also have a song titled "What did you have a brain tumor for breakfast?" To this day every now and then when someone pisses me off I say whatever Heather.

Why not?

If they kept it set in the late eighties and satirized it a la DONNIE DARKO. Oh, and kept the original ending which had Veronica strapping dynamite to her body and blowing up the school only to join her classmates and JD, now on an all-equal level, in heaven.
