'Hello Again' in movie theaters

John Michael LaChiusa's "Hello Again" musical hits movie theaters on Nov. 8.

It stars Audra McDonald, Martha Plimpton, T.R. Knight, Rumer Willis, Cheyenne Jackson, Jenna Ushkowitz, Tyler Blackburn, Sam Underwood, Nolan Gerard Funk and Al Calderon.

It's great to see more musical films, and I'll probably catch this one. But...and I ask this in all sincerity...how "dirty" is this? Those promo pictures are more risque than I expected.

I caught this at film festival last month. I went in with no set expectations and really enjoyed it. I will say that while I was intrigued from the beginning, the first few vignettes didn’t really do anything for me. Around the fourth or fifth one is when the movie really starts to pick up. As far as how “dirty” it is, there is no frontal nudity whatsoever; just some butt cheeks every now and then; half the time, they don’t even bother to undress. And the sexual acts themselves feel emotionless and clinical in the beginning but pick up steam as the movie goes along. Not being that familiar with Hello Again, I’m not sure if that is by design or if the second half of actors were just able to interpret the material better. Either way, I think it’s a cool film that everyone should check out at least once. I will definitely be seeing it again.
