Hello Rentheads

I've just registered and just wanted to introduce myself: I'm Astrid, 25 from Germany, Rent addict since 1996, shows so far: 68, seeing it on Broadway for the first time in 40 days... 4 times in a row then. Really looking forward to it.

Hope to meet a lot of other Rent freaks here!

No Day But Today!

re: Hello Rentheads

You may fit in better here, honestly... www.compulsivebowlers.com I'm a Renthead as well, but this isn't the place for Rent obsession.

re: Hello Rentheads

Is that good or bad? Sorry, I'm German. I'm not exactly sure if I did something wrong something.

re: Hello Rentheads

no lol! you didnt do anything wrong but, this isn't a "rent" board. she just gave you a link where you can talk about rent 525,600 minutes a day.

xoxo have fun at rent.

re: Hello Rentheads

Ok then. I know this is not a Rent Board, I just wanted to say hi and that I love Rent most of all musicals in the whole wide world... I'll post in other threads as well of course...

re: Hello Rentheads

i like u lol ur funny. What shows do they have in Germany now?
#12

re: Hello Rentheads

It's ok 525600, just as long as you don't start a thread called "I LOVE IDINA'S TOENAILS" and force me to change my head scratching to hair pulling.

re: Hello Rentheads

wasn't there a real thread about her toenails lol?

re: Hello Rentheads

Oh thanks...
Currently we have Starlight, Cats, Phantom (I guess, they change locations so often that I lost tracking...), AIDA, Mamma Mia (twice), 42nd Street, Les Mis, Lion King, Dance of the Vampires... And that's it I guess. Some smaller productions but I don't know all of them...

re: Hello Rentheads

If there was, I probably created it in the spirit of satire. Do you remember that one with the close up of her face coming out of the stage door? That was scary!

re: Hello Rentheads

@Mattio98: No I won't. I don't know her (except from the OBC Soundtrack) so I cannot say anything about any of her body parts... I could start with latest English Roger who really was incredibly pretty... but I won't... re: Hello Rentheads

re: Hello Rentheads

if we had been given the same version of YOUR DOTV, it would still be opened here. are the shows IN german or do they sing in english and speak in german?
#18

re: Hello Rentheads

No it's completely in German. There is hardly any speaking... It is soooo great! I was really shocked when I heard that they did not even make it the the opening night on Broadway...

Welcome, welcome, welcome. "We're not going to pay this year's rent, last year's rent, next year's rent..........Cause everything is RENT."

re: Hello Rentheads

Now I'm just picturing "Dancing Queen" being done in German. And in Lion King, do they translate the chants?
#21

re: Hello Rentheads

Yeah they do... I think all of the German versions are sung in German (except West Side Story or JSC, they are mostly sung in English). And Lion King was translated for the movie version of course... So they did not have to translate it for the show...

By the way, did anyone ever tell you that the German lyrics of Rent were the biggest crap ever? I think that's one of the reasons nobody wanted to watch it in Germany...

re: Hello Rentheads

Interesting....good to have you here! Don't worry, I just give people a hard time as a reflex. Wow, this board really brings out the b*tch in me.
