This world premiere production re-teams with playwright Bryony Lavery and director Doug Hughes whose critically lauded Broadway transfer, Frozen, was nominated for four 2004 Tony® Awards, including Best Play and Best Direction of a Play. Last Easter features Jeffrey Carlson (Drama Desk nominee for Taboo), Veanne Cox (Caroline, or Change), Jeffrey Scott Green (Breaking the Code), Clea Lewis (Woody Allen’s Writer’s Block) and Florencia Lozano (“One Life to Live”). It follows June, a lighting designer who has a secret. When her three best friends, a prop-maker, an actor and a female impersonator, unravel the mystery, they embark on a whirlwind journey, whisking her from her home in London, all the way to Lourdes, France (where she is thoroughly dunked in the holy water). The four friends’ lunatic pilgrimage is filled with laughing, singing, drag acts, a “ghostly” stagehand and, of course, many bottles of good, red wine. Founded in 1986, MCC Theatre has presented such notable works as Tim Blake Nelson’s The Grey Zone, Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Wit, Marsha Norman’s Trudy Blue, Rebecca Gilman’s The Glory of Living and Neil LaBute’s The Mercy Seat.

I can't wait for this show. I got my tickets already and I'm set. I love Jeffrey Carlson and Veanne Cox. It oughtta be a great show!
