Given the reviews, the large house it has to fill & the upcoming slow months, how long does anyone here think it will last ? Saw it & found it entertaining - not great but entertaining
Enjoyed the music & all the performers & I have seen much much worse than ran a long long time

I think it will close December 31st
or early January
but I still think December 31st would make most sense...

I think since they don't seem to be closing it next Sunday they will hold it open through the Holidays but close it Before the New Year. That way all the losses will be covered for 2006.
I can't imagine that they are making any kind of profit right now.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 6:55pmI seriously doubt it's doing so poorly as to merit a three week run. It'll probably last till sometime around march.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:03pmProfit? It's currently LOSING hundreds of thousands a week with no stars, terrible reviews and little if any chance of improving. Even with heavy discounting, it still hasn't cracked 50% attendance yet. Give it until New Years at the latest.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:09pmI was there last night, and the house was packed, upstairs and down.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:14pmOverthemoon-I bet it was papered. I can't imagine there was a run on the box office after those reviews. The only way this show has a prayer is by word of mouth-and judging by what has been said here, even that isn't strong enough to save it.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:17pmA lot of regular people don't actually refer to BWW users to tell them what to see, so there are probably people who have enjoyed the show and have spread the word that are not users on here.

The crowd upstairs at the 12/10 matinee was almost TDF exclusively
#13re: High Fidelity Prospects
Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:22pmI don't doubt that there was papering, but I'm just saying that I saw the audience's reaction, heard the applause and the cheers, and that means a hell of a lot more than just the bodies in the seats. I can see how word of mouth will be good.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:33pmThere WILL be a cast album, correct?
#15re: High Fidelity Prospects
Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:35pmThey were taking orders for it for january release. I hope an album does come out after all
#16re: High Fidelity Prospects
Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:38pmI'd certainly buy a cast recording if they released one.

Sure but with the show running in the 40's there probably aren't enough mouths to spread the word.

Not everyone shares your view including the actors & musicians
It is a shame that there is not a market for a show like this on Broadway because the critics scare people away & people listen to them

Posted: 12/11/06 at 8:08pmIs it advertising? I mean it just opened, so I think we'll be able to tell how it's doing after this week. Most shows don't do that well in previews, but it seems people enjoy it.

Many shows that people enjoy close. If you have the "critics" rip a show to threads, people will not use their own mind & let critics make up their mind for them
For me, never have & never will

Posted: 12/11/06 at 8:31pmI know they were taking orders - but I hope it becomes available -- I won't spend 20 dollars for a cast album....
