High School Summer @ NYU

Yes I'm aware that they are all kinds of posts about this program and that I should use the search feature so if you're going to say something along those lines...why waste both of our time?

Anybody else on here applying? Overnighted my application today for Musical Theatre @ CAP21 and just wondered if anyone knew how many poeple apply and how many they take for this programs.

I don't expect to get in...seeing as the program is for juniors and I'm a sophomore, although they WILL review sophomore applications. I just thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and apply to have a heads up for next year (when I'm really interested in going.) Info anyone?

Someone gave you false information. They accept both current sophomores and current juniors. I'm a sophomore and have the same chance of getting in as a junior does..so I would check where you got that info from because it's not true

I applied to the Lee Strasberg program and 16 students get into it as well as the CAP21 program. I think 16 are accepted to each program. You'll find out in May if you were accepted..I hope I do!!

Actually...my information is not incorrect. The Handbook says" Applications to the Tisch Summer High School Programs must be current high school juniors." But it goes on later to say "sophomores of exceptional maturity will be considered."

So, the way I understand it, you don't have as good of a chance if they don't think that you are of exceptional maturity.

I also applied. I applied for the CAP21 Musical Thatre program.

They take 16 for each studio but CAP21 takes 32. Apparently last summer about 600 applied. It's very rare for a sophomore to be accepted, 442, the vast majority are juniors.

Hey you guys -- I went to the CAP21 program this past summer (we had 32 people in it - split into two groups of 16) -- if you guys have any specific questions at all, just PM me. It was an INCREDIBLE experience (and I'll be at CAP21 in the fall for college -- it definitely convinced me that NYU is the only place I wanted to go)
