An interesting read which appears to be written by someone grinding no axes.

I don't always agree with Riedel. I don't have the same tastes in theatre that he does, for certain, and I think he gets a bit too mean-spirited at times. But I think this is the first article that really gives him credit for what he has: a sharp nose for what is significant, and a strong sense of what he is doing as a columnist. He calls out producers when no one else will, and has turned himself into a tempest in the Broadway teapot.
And now for the dangerous part: I think he's a lot better for the future of theatre than Brantley.

I'm home sick so I'm reading alot and fighting off those taking umbrage with whether the last lyrics sung by Merman were this-a or that-a...
but I read the Reidel piece and thought it put him in a totally different light. I'm glad you posted it Rob. I see Riedel as cutting away the BS of Broadway.

Dear Corine:
If one were to accuse Rob of being Reidel's Press Agent, one might have to accuse someone like - oh, you - for being Donna's or Stephanie's....
Oh, silly me. I forgot to put my LOL after that which would, of course, indicate that I wasn't "really" saying that...

LORDY the man review shows here basically complains cos the shows director didn't direct the way HE (R.O.) would have THAT is not a valid form of criticisim to me. Poison fruit from a stunted tree. (BUT I'm NOT bitter!)
