My first thought is that this is a very New York inspired line up ..... almost all the shows are recent and even current Broadway/Off-Broadway shows! I see their current season also has The Christians and The Nether.
I missed Let The Right One In at St Anns and so I am very very excited they are doing that. I do not live in Houston but I have been thinking about visiting recently .... and I may base a weekend trip around seeing Let The Right One In.
I absolutely loved A View From The Bridge in New York ... I am not sure if I can ever see it again without being terribly disappointed.
Hand To God was also fantastic .... I would love to see another take on that one. And done creatively, A Midsummer Night's Dream can be wonderful - especially if live music is utilized. Freaky Friday could turn out to be extremely entertaining or incredibly moronic so who knows about that one!
I have never been to the Alley Theatre .... are their productions generally of high quality? Is it worth it to plan a weekend trip around seeing one of their productions? Are they known for creativity and a novel, fresh approach to classics like Shakespeare or do they tend to be more traditional with classic theatre? Thanks for any insight!
