Just wondering... if I was to go to the discount place day-of-the-show for "Phantom" ...how cheap do you think I could get tickets and how good of seats would they be?

No more than 50 percent off.

Here are current Phantom advance discount codes:

http://www.broadwaybox.com/shows/the_phantom_of_the_opera_nyc_tickets.aspx

And here is a chart of what happens at TKTS each day:
http://www.entertainment-link.com/tkts.asp

It looks like Phantom wasn't there last week at all. Some weeks it is, some it isn't. It may be harder to get day of discounts in the summer. Go with the advance discount code. I think that's the cheapes you'll get in for right now. Few shows go under 50 percent. Phantom is still selling pretty well.

I asked the person at the Majestic box office once and he said that Phantom of the Opera doesn't sell rush tickets, in case you were wondering.

They don't have rush or student tickets, but on days the performances are sold out they sell SRO tickets for $20.

When I saw it in January they were selling every seat in the house for 50 bucks. We bought 7 row center orch tix for that price less than a month before the show. Not sure if it was just that month or not but maybe something to look into???

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."
