How Long Does it Take for Vocal Selections to be Released

I came across the SHREK demo and am obsessed with The Wall. I find it to be a song that really stretches my range and am wondering how long it takes for the vocal selections for a show to come out?

well, it first takes time for a publishing company to cut an agreement with the writers and producers.

when a publishing company works out the specifics, they'll give the writers a working timeline (transpositions, re-formatting, modifications, etc.)... kind of like "due dates"

this timeline can range for months.

I know that John Bucchino is still working on the formatting of his music for A CATERED AFFAIR book. I think it's going to be published at the end of the spring, though I could always be wrong.

If the writers opt to hire (on their own pay) transcribers and assistants, to help the process, the book CAN be published on a much faster timeline.

it all depends...

in short? there's no definite answer.

I don't think there's a Legally Blonde book yet, either. That's taking a while.
