OK, so we're in NY for 3 days this week and just saw Avenue Q for the first time last night. Absolutely LOVED it and it's definitely in my Top 3 for All Time Favorite shows.
We're in the process of buying the CD on Amazon.com and while we were shopping, decided to get the Forbidden Broadway CDs that we've put off buying. We want to get them all, so my question is, how many FB CDs have there actually been? Amazon lists these:
Forbidden Broadway, Vols. 1-4 [BOX SET]
Forbidden Broadway: The Hit Musical Revue (1982 Revue Compilation)
Forbidden Broadway: Unoriginal Cast Recording, Volume 2
Forbidden Broadway Volume 3
Forbidden Broadway Strikes Back!: Another Unoriginal Cast Recording, Volume 4
Forbidden Broadway Cleans Up Its Act!: The Unoriginal Cast Recording, Volume 5
Forbidden Broadway-20th Anniversary
Forbidden Broadway 2001 a Spoof Odyssey
Would we be missing any? Thanks!

Those are all of them! There is also a CD of "Forbidden Hollywood", a show just like "FB", but they do parodies of movies instaed a shows. It's hilarious, all though I think it is out of print. Look at other sites online, I dont know Amazon sells it. One pops up on Ebay every so often.
BWayBoy88 - "Forbidden Broadway" opened in New York at Palsson's Supper Club on January 15, 1982. It stayed there until August of 1987. In September of 1988, the show re-opened at Theatre East, where it played for 5 1/2 more years. It also played a 6 1/2 year run at the Terrace Room in Boston, six months in Denver, and a record breaking run in 1994 at the Tiffany Theatre in LA. In 1996, the had been down for a while in NY, so with a new producing team, "Forbidden Broadway Strikes Back" opened at the Traid and it was an instant hit. About a year later, the show moved to the Stardust Theatre, and most recently was transfered to the Douglas Fairbanks theatre, where it still is today. So, to answer your question, its been runnig for 23, going on 24, years.
Sorry for the big history of the show... but I'm obsessed... lol
You beat me. I did not move fast enough.

(still in NY until tomorrow afternoon. Wednesday was Avenue Q and Wicked. Yesterday was The Producers. Tonight is Toxic Audio.)
The only Forbidden Broadway I saw was Strikes Back at the Triad with Brian Batt and it was loads of fun. I'd love to see it again now that I've caught up on my shows.

"Forbidden Broadway Strikes Back" was def one of my favorite editions... The cast was awesome... Bryan Batt, Donna English, Christine Pedi, and David Hibbard (who was later replaced by Tom Plotkin, who is on the CD). All the parodies were awesome... They actually had some that didn't make it to the CD that were reall good... like Sarah Jessica Parker in "Once Upon A Mattress"... a Tommy Tune number... a different version of Annie (I'm getting laid off... Tomorrow!)... and a few others....
I am really excited for the new edition thats opening in September! It's gonna be great!

Yeah, I hope Michael West is in it. Speaking of which, I'm meeting up with him sometime in the next few days. So excited!

That's awesome! I know him, and he's a great guy! I'm sure he'll stay for the next edition! He said in an interview once that its "tough to tear yourself away from Forbidden Broadway"!
