I don't think anyone posted this since Broadway.com didn't really say why.
The stage manager of Wicked told us that *they are changing things in the tour-which will soon be changed on Bway* during rehearsal for "No good Deed" Elphaba now FLIES in with her broom. During on of the runs a cable broke and she was left dangling above the stage by one cable. The system was malfunctioning as well so they couldn't get it to lower. It took a lng while to lower her and when they did she was rushed to the hospital.
Ok I searched and I didn't see any posts with this reason. WHICH is real..i met the stage manager...she told me herself. thank you *steps off soap box*

Here's the skinny on what happened (poor Steph--ouch!) last evening that caused her injury, as per allthatchat:
"So, this is what happened. Yesterday, they had a fantastic run through. Everything went beautifully. It was a dress rehearsal with an audience. Afterwards, they asked Stephanie to stay around for a few more moments, as they wanted to do another 'flying' rehearsal, and make sure everything was working properly. This took place at 11pm. Everything was going fine, until, one of the wires on the harness let go, and so she was hanging by only one wire, and everyone was screaming to let her down, but instead of letting her down, they were raising the wires instead, and bringing her up. Her whole entire right side of her body is completely bruised from her neck to her feet, she is swollen and, having muscle spasms, and though she is in pain, she is in good spirits."
I hope she heals quickly.

Posted: 3/14/05 at 11:30amI spoke with someone in the Toronto cast yesterday. Apparently, Stephanie is walking now and even visited the theatre yesterday. I was also told that Kristy Cates has been signed to do the role through March 27th.
